UNICEF recently released a web app to raise awareness of the need for clean drinking water in developing countries by challenging people to go without something not necessary for life like water--their cellphones--for a period of time. During March, donors gave 25 cents--enough to provide 10 days of clean water--to the clean water initiative for every 10 minutes the user spent away from his phone. The web app currently reads "While people on Instagram have posted 13,320 #food photos, you've helped provide water instead."

National Panhellenic Conference, the national governing body for sororities, adopted a piece of legislation stating that sorority women are not permitted to be involved in fraternity recruitment in any way. Many sorority women now are upset about this new rule because of the recruitment shirts that they have purchased from fraternities.

A brew kit is one way to make homemade beer. In Kansas it is legal to make homemade beer, but only you and your family can consume it, if Senate Bill 112 passes it will mean homemade beers can be shared and entered in public competition.

The Kansas Personal and Family Protection Act, signed into law last year by Kansas Governor Sam Brownback, which requires all public buildings in the state to allow licensed people carrying concealed firearms access, is leaving some city and municipal governments with a choice between doing nothing and letting concealed firearms inside, or paying huge sums of money to secure their buildings using extra protective measures.
