    Adam Chinery, freshman in civil engineering, and Col. Roger C. Locher, cut the cake with a saber to celebrate the Air Force's 64th birthday Sept. 15. As per tradition, the oldest and youngest airmen present cut the cake together.
    Bowen talks about his first career; he started out as submarine officer, then moved to NASA as a mission specialist. After a question was asked about being an astronaut, Bowen said, "We work. We get stuff done. We explore."
